Good Ol' Louie

Good Ol' Louie came to fix the door today and as usual he got the job done and done well. I feel for Louie... he's got 4 daughters and 10 grandchildren... the man has his hands full!

The man looks at something broken... looks at another thing... makes something out of nothing... next thing you know what was once broken is now fixed.

He told me about the people that got laid off at his construction job and I found this worrisome because I hear more about people getting laid off than getting work... not a good sign.

Daughters of Mary

I was sent to photograph the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in Haledon, NJ... very sweet ladies... Sister Monique Huart said, "If we wait to be great or for great things to happen we'll probably wait too long..." I don't have an allegiance to an organized religion but I agree with what she said because it applies to everyone.

Should've flown south with the geese...

They were lucky I couldn't find any geese because I had some extra bread and was feeling generous...

A light-hearted day

Sometimes the days become too serious or maybe we take them too seriously either way when an opportunity for some fun comes around you gotta take advantage of it. Due to the weather my buddy Matt had his flight to Texas pushed back to 6 pm and I had a photo assignment canceled so we went to Central Park...
Some cool kids let us borrow a couple of their sleds, but at first we didn't have any.
Matt, a lawyer, is the first person I met who as a little kid wanted to be a mushroom picker.

The line up Matt (left) me (center left) Sheamus (center right) younger Matt (right)... The smack talking started right away. Sheamus aka "Fire" has perfected the art of trash talking and the younger Matt earned the nicknamed "The Champ" because he never looses a race... I learned that the hard way!
Matt and I started strong and in the lead!
Matt sped ahead and I fell apart!
I was a mess out there and Sheamus flew by in his tube. Matt and I lost every race to Sheamus and the younger Matt, but GOOD TIMES it was!

The younger Matt and Sheamus are a couple of really cool dudes who raced like champions and showed great sportsmanship. Their wonderful mothers even gave us hot chocolate... too sweet to us! Gotta give credit to where credit is due... the photos that feature both Matt and me were taken by Sheamus' mom... she did an awesome job!

The Little Crazies

Spent some time today with two of the craziest people in my life, my niece and nephew. They are absolutely priceless!

I rocked at "SpongeBob Dominoes!"
But got destroyed in "Lucky Ducky"
My partner (on the left) and I self-destructed at "Connect Four" due to differences of opinion on key strategic moves.
But ended strong at "Balloon Lagoon!"

Barack Obama Supporter

After hearing Barack Obama swept the weekend contests I was reminded of Elizabeth, a very nice lady, and her son Liam, a really cool kid to work with. I photographed them for a story back in December on stay at home moms that actively support Obama in New Jersey.

Young Ballers

Here are portraits of some of the 7th and 8th graders that attend the yearly basketball clinic at St. Athanasius in the South Bronx. The clinic was lead by Bill O'Keefe, produced by my father and assisted by my sister Danielle.
